Glanbrook Community Update
Our next Community Ward Meeting will be on Monday March 8th, 2010 at 7:00pm. This meeting will be held at the Glanbrook Municipal Office, 4280 Binbrook Road, next to the arena and soccer fields. Our agenda isn’t finalized yet, so if there is something that you would like on it, please let us know. One item I’m planning for this agenda is have an overview of the proposed 2010 budget and the impact to our Community.
I am pleased to announce that we’ve have got the Ward 11 Website up and running and it is loaded with information about Ward 11, Community Groups, a calendar, contact information and we are looking for your input on adding to it. The address is www.david-mitchell.ca check it out and let us know what you think. If you would like to be on our email list for meeting notification, let us know. On the website, check out the community calendar, it supports all the local non-profit organizations. You can also order a certificate for that special anniversary or birthday or other event. There is also a number of community updates posted on a regular basis. Also, when ever we have questions asked that might be of interest to all, we post those in the frequently asked questions section. We think it’s great and we hope that you will as well.
Another all-way stop approved for our community, it’s at the corner of Hendershot Road and Golf Club. Staff have done another review of this intersection and they agree now that an all-way stop is warranted given the collision history at that location. It will likely take 4-6 weeks to do utility locates and order the signs, so we can expect this new sign in mid-late March.
Due to the great success of the Health Card Renewal Service offered at the Glanbrook Municipal Office, the Ministry of Health has added a lot more days for 2010. If you need to change or renew that health card, call 1-888-376-5197 and make an appt for the Glanbrook location.
If you haven’t checked your well water lately, remember that the test bottles are at the Glanbrook Municipal Service Centre and the service is free of charge. If you have a cistern, it’s a good idea to check the quality of water in that as well.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns please contact my office at 905-546-4513 or www.david-mitchell.ca or email Kathy Dinney or David Mitchell.
