QUILTS OF VALOUR hanging at St. John’s Church in Winona

All the QUILTS OF VALOUR have arrived in Hamilton and at this event will be hanging throughout this beautiful heritage building that is well over 150 years old. The public is invited to attend a Special Service paying tribute to our Canadian troops especially our wounded soldiers. Approximately 2100 Canadian soldiers have been wounded in the war in Afghanistan. Over 700 wounded soldiers have received the national QUILTS OF VALOUR lovingly made by Canadian volunteers. The QUILTS OF VALOUR represent thousands and thousands of hours of work. At this Special Service the next batch of the QUILTS OF VALOUR on display will be Blessed by The Right Reverend Michael Bird, Bishop of Niagara, before they are sent to Ottawa to be distributed to wounded soldiers across Canada. All Canadians who have soldiers in their hearts and prayers are encouraged to come to this Special Service at St. John’s Church in Winona on Sunday April 18th, 2010 at 10:00 AM.
