City’s New ‘Rural Official Plan’ Coming Soon

The City of Hamilton is in the process of finalizing new Rural and Agricultural Zones which will implement the Province’s Greenbelt Plan and the City’s new Rural Official Plan. As a result, six new zones have been created that will limit agricultural uses to the Rural Area and provide for a limited range of uses in the Rural Settlement Areas while supporting these communities. The Zones also establish clear and consistent regulations for these uses throughout the City’s existing Rural areas.

There will be three Public Information Centres (PIC) at the end of April to present the new zones to the public. The PIC for Ward 11 will be held on April 21st from 1-3pm and from 6:30 to 9pm at the Binbrook Fairgrounds, 2600 Highway 56 in Binbrook. The two others being held will be on April 19th at Millgrove Community Centre, 855 Millgrove Side Road, Millgrove and on April 26th at the Ancaster Fairgrounds, 630 Trinity Road, Jerseyville also at 1-3pm and 6:30 to 9pm.

Please drop into one of these information centres and learn more about the Rural and Agricultural Zones and voice your concerns. Please remember that you can also voice your concerns directly to me as well.
