What’s Happening in Ward 11

Bus Service is extended along Rymal Road from the Ancaster Business Park, across Rymal to Upper Centennial Parkway in Elfrida and then north to Eastgate Square, which is at lower Centennial Parkway and Queenston Road. This service started on September 8th, 2009. Service will operate Monday through Friday every 30 minutes between 6am and 9:30am and between 2pm and 6:30pm. This route is known at Route #44 Rymal.

Timetables can be obtained through the mail by phoning 905-527-4441, or by stopping into the Glanbrook Municipal Service Centre. They are also available on the web at www.hamilton.ca/hsr and look for Route #44 Rymal.

At this point in time there is not enough demand to run bus service into the Village of Binbrook. I will be taking a survey this fall to see if there is any change in the level of support for this service and I will keep you posted on the progress. Please keep in mind, that currently Binbrook does not pay for transit service in their property taxes, it is area rated because they don’t have the service.

We are planning a Community Meeting for October, 2009. If you have any items you would like on the agenda, please let us know.

Reminder, the Binbrook Fall Fair is the 18th, 19th & 20th of September this year and it is always a great local event. There a Fair Programs at the Glanbrook Municipal Office if you would like to drop by and pick one up.

The Farmers Market on Saturday mornings at the Binbrook Fairgrounds has been an amazing success this summer and I would like to thanks everyone involved, especially the Glanbrook Chamber of Commerce. It’s been a long time coming and I know that the community very much appreciates it.

Is it time to renew your Health Card? Remember this can be done at the Glanbrook Municipal Office, 4280 Binbrook Road, next to the arena and soccer fields. However, you must call OHIP directly and make an appt; 1-888-376-5197. They come once a month, so book well in advance.

As always, if you have any other questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact my office at 905-546-4513 or email kathy.dinney@hamilton.ca or myself at david.mitchell@hamilton.ca.
